SO, yeah, been a...long time. As usual.

I've been doing goooooood. I'm waiting to hear from a new job as an interpreter/paraprofessional in a preschool. And I have been waiting for a longlonglong time. Meh, I'm no longer trusting the words of hiring peoples. They really don't follow through.

In OTHER news, I went and saw High School Musical 2 as a play earlier this week. It left me in the firm knowledge that it should NEVER be done as a stage play. And that Mr. Fulton is Sharpay's illegitimate daddy.

And now I'm watching Glee, and it is a never-ending parade of cracky hilarity. I love it so hard.

I'll try and nutshell-i-fy it all. Last night, let's start with that. From 6:30 to 3:30 I was at the Valley Mall Theater, waiting for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premier. ( Cue long, rambling description of the time leading up to said movie, but no description of the movie itself, other than the fact that at the end )my butt was numb by the time I had to drive home.

Oh, yes! I got my drivers license! And since that time I've backed over a fence and almost gotten into numerous small collisions. :D But mercifully, nobody or nothing important has been seriously damaged.

Erika came over...almost two weeks ago, I think. Maybe just a week. Week and a half? At some point. And that was a lovely wild week, full of Resident Evil 4 and quasi-gourmet foodstuffs.

Of course, it was somewhat ruined by the fact that I was moody, easily irritated, sleeping too much, over-emotional, plagued by feelings of constant guilt and, up to one week ago, bordering on suicidal.

Last Thursday, I went to the doctor and was officially diagnosed with moderately severe clinical depression. ( Cue long rambling discussion on depression, resulting wiiiith... ) I'm not quite hopeful yet, but I'm getting there. :)

And I got a henna tattoo! :D

So, I debated the merits of trekking up the little hill from my house to the strangely shady spot where I saw some lilacs last night, and decided that I would.

But this was before I got kept at school indefinitely with no food, no money and a very bad mood. So now, the chances of me going on a secret lilac-gathering mission are approximately nil. Yaaaay. DX

So, it's just about almost summer and I cannot wait. Not even a little bit. To be all done with school and with my church childcare will be SO EPIC. I cannot wait.

And it's warm and sunny outside, but I'm here at school, waiting for a bus. And listening to Rob Thomas's new song which is ridiculous and full of stupid lines like the one currently titling my post, but it's still AWESOME. And addictive.

And I'm wearing a preponderance of black these days. Interpreting. It gets in your brains. :O

So, now m'gonna go get Memoirs of a Geisha from the library and watch it all day, along with the EPIC EPISODE of CSI:NY where Lindsay has her baby.

Simple pleasures, I has them.

Much has happened in the however many weeks since I last posted. However, all that is important is today. Today I played hooky and shaved my legs and made delicious cake. And watched Swan Princess which was a travel down memory lane that was most...interesting.

Anyways. Tomorrow I have sign practicum. Oy. Better go rest up for it.

So, essentially it's really cold here. Probably because I haven't turned the heat on. Cooooold.

Also, it's Saint Patrick's day and I had no green, so my classmate drew a shamrock on my hand with a green highlighter. And now it's going to seep into my skin and my babies will be mutants.

And it's ALMOST SPRING BREAK. FINALLY. This quarter has lasted for FOREVER. But it's almost over and I can go play across the state. With mah luv.

And all that. And I had a gyros today. I think I'm addicted. :D

Poodles have the same basic abilities as amoebas. And I have PROOOF!!!!

You see, there is a black poodle across the street from us. For the purposes of being scientific and awesome, we shall refer to her as D. Her name is Dee. You see?

I walk past D every day on the way to school. She frolics and romps along the fence and "uffs" at me. She does not bark. She "uffs".

One day I was walking past D's fence and expecting the typical frolic/romp/uff. To my surprise, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR black poodles were frolicking and romping and uffing. The only difference was - they were miniature. We shall refer to them as Dx4.

This was most marvelous, therefore I conducted a study on the bus. No D = Dx4. The main differences were that the Dx4 were smaller, fluffier, and their "uffs" were softer. Due in part to smaller lungs and bigger fluffiness. I concluded that Dx4 = equivalent to D. Therefore, logically, due to the coldness of the air, D divided into four parts to increase on fluffiness.

An experience today confirmed this. Walking past the yard, I noted a Dx4 in the pen - but D was there in the yard!! I was stunned until I reasoned that ah, of course, that D is slightly smaller, and is therefore a Dx3. The remaining Dx4 was ill with something and resting in the pen, while it's clones kept watch. The Dx4 in the pen was surely the one with the vocal chords, as it didn't stop barking for several minutes after I'd walked past.

First post of 2009. I think...yeah. And I'll be posting more, since school is under control, cross m'heart. I think.

I kept my job, so thanks to all who were worried bout that. :3 It was a seriously hard decision, but the fact that it was after a Tuesday helped. My favorite students come on Tuesday and seeing them made me realize how much I'd miiiiiiss them. D:

And school + work = severe shoulder and back pain. I can has massage?

Also, car will be fixed soon yaaaay. And we're going to Seattle in February, yaaay.

....cept Erika will NOT be there. She will be in Canada, catching me a Mountie. Which is not fun, but, hey. I'm coming over spring break EXPECT IT FEAR IT.

And I am not having RMS because I'm NOT. Repetitive Motion Syndrome from signing and typing and doing stupid maths.

-sings- I just hit 20k! I just hit 20k! And it just goes to show how exhausted I am that my posts solely concern my word count for Summerwrite! But I don't care! Cause I just hit 20k! That's 20,000 words! Which only leaves -

-stops- 130,000 more. Oh. -is sobered-

But still.

Anyways, in other news, my play opens tomorrow and I have developed an intense loathing for a particular little turd who has decided that showing up for the LAST DRESS REHEARSAL isn't worth his time. Gack. Gack I say!

But other than that...I'm exhausted and need sleep. Gads I hope I can survive school/rehearsal/Summerwrite-which-is-still-tiring-even-though-I-just-hit-20k....

All right, a bit of explanation for those on my flist who have no idea what this "Summerwrite" is: much like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, google it), it is a period of time wherein those who possess either a lot of talent or not much foresight decide to write a certain amount of words. In the case of Summerwrite (henceforth abbreviated as SW), the time period is May 1st to August 31st, and the word count is 150,000. There's a lovely LJ community set up for it, complete with many wonderfully encouraging fellow authors.

Anyways, today was the first day and my word count was 1544. Not bad, although 1140 of those words were for a fanfic I wanted to finish up so it wasn't bothering me. But still, not bad, right?

Eh.

Well, in the spirit of authors everywhere who fling out their precious words to be observed by the masses, I'm going to post the first 404 words of my as-yet-untitled novel. Maybe, if anyone's interested, I'll post the prologue for my already-established novel...maybe.

Yeah, d'you have any idea how many weird looks you get when you stalk into a bathroom, fling your backpack onto the counter and then proceed to get lemon yogurt all over yourself, the counter and anyone who's unfortunate enough to be standing near you as you mop out 3/4ths of a container of the accursed milk-based product out of the outside compartment of your purple backpack?

...................that floppy disk will never be the same. *le sigh* I'm lucky no-one was standing nearby to hear the vague obscenities I was compelled to spew at that wretched yogurt. (wax poetic much? ^.^)

On the plus side, yogurt is surprisingly good for your skin. *waves hands about*
